Food Bank

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. Last year the UK foodbank network fed over 60,000 people experiencing food poverty. This year they will feed over 100,000 people.

We are partnering with the Gillingham foodbank in helping our community. We are a collection point for food and deliver it to the foodbank. If you would like to be involved in giving food here are items that are helpful:

(Please bring food items to the Father’s House Shaftesbury):

  • Tomatoes – (Tinned)
  • Soup (Tinned or packet)
  • Sugar
  • Orange juice (carton)P
  • Milk (UHT or powdered)
  • Fruit – (Tinned)
  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Meat – (Tinned)
  • Vegetables – (Tinned)
  • Tuna / Fish – (Tinned)
  • Pasta Sauce (Jar)
  • Pasta / Noodles (Dried)
  • Tea Bags
  • Rice Pudding – (Tinned)
  • Chocolate
  • Biscuits
